Wyatt Homes acquires land in Charminster for fourth phase of popular development

Charminster Farm, Dorchester

Work on the fourth phase of our hugely popular Charminster Farm development near Dorchester will start imminently following the acquisition of the land.

We completed the purchase of the 2.34 hectare site this week. Known as The Spire at Charminster Farm, it will provide 30 premium quality new homes.

Land Director Marcus Warwick said: “We’re pleased to have successfully completed the acquisition of phase four of our much sought-after Charminster Farm development, where we’ve already delivered 204 new homes, a community hall, allotments, play area and public open space across three completed phases. This land will add a further 30 new homes, contributing much-needed homes to the housing supply in the area.”

The Spire at Charminster Farm will include 20 private sale properties and 10 affordable homes.

The housing mix will include two, three and four-bedroom private sale homes featuring our signature craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and premium finish.

New homes releasing January 2026

Construction is due to start soon, with the first homes due to be released for sale in early 2026.

Residents are expected to start moving into the new phase in the summer, with construction likely to be completed by the end of 2026.

We’ll also provide areas of open space for residents to enjoy, plus new sustainable drainage systems and make enhancements to existing vegetation.

A new priority junction will be created onto Wanchard Lane. There will be pedestrian access at the south east of the development site, allowing future residents to access the footway into the centre of Charminster.

The wider development has seen in excess of £500,000 invested in community infrastructure.

The homes are being built in a highly desirable setting, on the edge of Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just two miles from Dorchester’s historic town centre. The Route 26 National Cycle Network travels past the development, while easy access to the A35 and A37 provides commuter links to Bournemouth and Poole.
