Discover Our Legacy
At Wyatt Homes, we’ve been creating distinctive award-winning, homes across the South for 35 years.

Our Legacy
For over 30 years, Wyatt Homes has quietly but confidently built a legacy across Dorset, Somerset, and Hampshire, a legacy defined by quality, trust, and design.
Our name has become synonymous with integrity in homebuilding, and our homes are known not only for their enduring beauty, but also for the stories they help shape across generations.
At Wyatt Homes, every decision is made with the future in mind for our homeowners, our neighbourhoods, and our communities. That is why our four founding pillars continue to guide every home we build.
Wyatt Homes
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Wyatt Homes was founded by David Wyatt at the age of 20, during the height of the recession.
He began by taking on general building work and home extensions, which eventually led to his first full build, a chalet bungalow in Lytchett Matravers.
From the very beginning, David handled all his own planning or refined and improved existing plans and designs.
Few hands, one major milestone
In 1996, Wyatt Homes purchased its first residential development site at Coles Lane in Milborne St Andrew, initially planned for nine homes.
Following a redesign, the total number of homes was increased to 20.
Few hands, one major milestone
Around the same time, the first landmark deal was secured, the design and construction of a new First School for Dorset County Council and the Parish of Milborne St Andrew.
This project was delivered at no cost to the Council, with the original school building and surrounding land transferred to Wyatt Homes as part of the agreement.
After three years of planning and negotiation, construction took just one year, and the new school was officially handed over in 2001.
At that time, the company employed fewer than ten people directly.
parkstone road
In 2000, the company relocated to 1 Parkstone Road in Poole, with just three staff members based in the office.
That same year, planning permission was granted for the former school site in Milborne St Andrew, paving the way for St Andrews View, a development of approximately 40 homes.
Transforming Brownfield Land
In 2001, the company acquired its first true brownfield site at Hazelbury Bryan, formerly a petrol station.
The site, later developed as Croft View Cottages, required full decontamination before construction could begin.
Building Community Spaces
Around 24 homes were constructed on land owned by Budmouth College in Weymouth, with proceeds from the development helping to fund the construction of a new sports hall for the school.
first conversions
In 2003, Wyatt Homes completed its first barn conversions as part of the Manor Farm development in Pimperne.
This was followed in 2006 by the acquisition of land at Shillingstone, later developed as Hambledon View which was purchased from Dorset County Council.
Award-Winning Beach-front Living
In 2008, Wyatt Homes launched Vision, an award-winning beach-front apartment development that marked a successful entry into the Sandbanks market.
The project’s success played a key role in supporting the company’s broader strategic investments, paving the way for involvement in larger, long-term development sites.
Around this time, David Wyatt also began focusing on strategic land opportunities, initiating collaborations with the Lees Estate in Upton and the Hannam Estate in Wimborne.
Reaching New Heights
In 2009, Wyatt Homes completed a significant project at West Bay, delivering two apartment blocks comprising 65 units, including the company’s first six-storey concrete structure with an underground basement.
By this time, the team had grown to 15 employees. This year marked a pivotal moment in the company’s history, with its first green belt land deal secured through a partnership with a landed estate at Cuthbury in Wimborne.
FUTURE BUILDING
By 2010, the company had grown to around 20 full-time employees. Over the following five years, it experienced its largest period of expansion, doubling the team size to 40.
ASHFIELD PARTNERSHIP
In 2012, Wyatt Homes joined forces with two other local builders and the Broadlands Estate in Romsey, Hampshire, forming the Ashfield Partnership.
The group is developing two sites, Whitenap and Mountbatten Park, with a goal of delivering approximately 1,500 homes.
Shaping Yeovil’s Future
In 2015, the company began negotiations with Charles Bishop Ltd at Brimsmore, collaborating on a major urban extension to Yeovil that involved planning, architecture, and design, an effort that developed into a successful and active new homes community.
Ensuring Quality Excellence
In 2017, to ensure better control over the quality of materials, particularly timber and joinery, Wyatt Homes acquired S&S Joinery (Southern).
In this exclusive partnership, the team at S&S Joinery brings a meticulous approach, collaborating closely with our design and construction teams to uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship.
This collaboration is founded on a shared commitment to excellence, ensuring every detail reflects precision and quality.
Creating Community Hubs
In 2019, Wyatt Homes proudly completed and handed over the Charminster Community Centre, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to supporting local communities.
This project involved close collaboration with community leaders, architects, and contractors to deliver a versatile and welcoming space designed to meet the diverse needs of Charminster residents.
The centre features modern facilities, accessible design, and environmentally conscious building practices, reflecting Wyatt Homes’ dedication not only to quality construction but also to creating strong, vibrant communities.
Supporting Local Living
Wyatt Homes continued this tradition of enhancing local communities as part of the Saxonbury development. That year saw the completion and handover of two key community assets: a newly constructed skate park and a set of allotments.
Both facilities were thoughtfully designed to promote healthy, active lifestyles and foster community engagement among residents of all ages. The skate park offers a dynamic space for youth recreation and socializing, while the allotments encourage sustainable living and provide opportunities for local residents to grow their own produce.
Investing in Education & Community
Over the years, Wyatt Homes has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering community-focused projects alongside its residential developments. In 2021, the company proudly handed over the new Milborne School after a dedicated period of design, negotiation, and construction. This landmark project provided a modern, purpose-built facility that has since become a cornerstone for education in the area.
Home of Wimborne Town FC
In 2021/22, Wyatt Homes completed and handed over the new Wimborne Town FC stadium. We’re proud to sponsor the stadium through 2026/27, supporting the club’s growth and community impact. The facility includes stands, a clubhouse, and a 3G pitch, enhancing local sports infrastructure.
the story continues
Wyatt Homes is set to move into a new bespoke office at Rivers Edge in Wimborne,
with full-time staff numbers now exceeding 65.
This move marks an important milestone in the company’s ongoing growth
and shared vision for the future.
