WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Wyatt Homes was founded by David Wyatt at the age of 20, during the height of the recession.

He began by taking on general building work and home extensions, which eventually led to his first full build, a chalet bungalow in Lytchett Matravers.

From the very beginning, David handled all his own planning or refined and improved existing plans and designs.

In 1996, Wyatt Homes purchased its first residential development site at Coles Lane in Milborne St Andrew, initially planned for nine homes.

Following a redesign, the total number of homes was increased to 20.

Around the same time the first landmark deal was secured, the design and construction of a new First School for Dorset County Council and the Parish of Millborne St Andrew commenced.

This project was delivered at no cost to the council and after three years of planning, construction took just one year with the new school officially handed over in 2001. At this time the company employed fewer than ten people directly.

The project’s success played a key role in supporting the company’s broader strategic investments, paving the way for involvement in larger, long-term development sites.

Around this time, David Wyatt also began focusing on strategic land opportunities, initiating collaborations with the Lees Estate in Upton and the Hannam Estate in Wimborne.

In this exclusive partnership, the team at S&S Joinery brings a meticulous approach, collaborating closely with our design and construction teams to uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship.

This collaboration is founded on a shared commitment to excellence, ensuring every detail reflects precision and quality.

This project involved close collaboration with community leaders, architects, and contractors to deliver a versatile and welcoming space designed to meet the diverse needs of Charminster residents.

The centre features modern facilities, accessible design, and environmentally conscious building practices, reflecting Wyatt Homes’ dedication not only to quality construction but also to creating strong, vibrant communities.

Supporting Local Living

1990
2020

Wyatt Homes continued this tradition of enhancing local communities as part of the Saxonbury development. That year saw the completion and handover of two key community assets: a newly constructed skate park and a set of allotments.

Both facilities were thoughtfully designed to promote healthy, active lifestyles and foster community engagement among residents of all ages. The skate park offers a dynamic space for youth recreation and socializing, while the allotments encourage sustainable living and provide opportunities for local residents to grow their own produce.

Investing in Education & Community

    Our quality

Wyatt Homes stands apart through our approach to design and construction. Each home is a showcase of traditional building techniques blended with modern precision from locally sourced natural materials.

From oak internal doors, quartz worktops, and bespoke cabinetry to high ceilings, premium appliances and beautifully proportioned living spaces, every finish comes as standard with Wyatt Homes.

But quality is more than just what’s visible. That’s why we use traditional blockwork, timber stud walls, and avoid timber-frame or metal-stud partitioning. It’s why our street scenes are thoughtfully landscaped, our garages powered and lit, and why even the smallest home carries the same high standard as our largest.

Because for us, quality is not a feature. It’s our foundation.

    Our customers

At Wyatt Homes, our customers are not just part of our business, they are the very reason we exist. We know buying a home is one of life’s biggest decisions, and we are committed to making the process as pleasurable, transparent, and stress-free as possible.

From first contact to moving day and beyond, our experienced and passionate team delivers not only service but genuine care.

Customers are encouraged to visit, revisit, and ask, because we believe trust is built through openness. Our site managers are available to meet buyers directly, and our two-year customer care programme ensures continued peace of mind well beyond completion.

Over the last five years, 98% of our homebuyers would buy a Wyatt home again, and 98% would recommend us to friends and family.

    Our Legacy

To build a Wyatt home is to contribute to something greater, to a street, a community, a family’s future. Our homes are built for generations, designed to age gracefully and live beautifully for decades to come.

Our developments go far beyond bricks and mortar. From football grounds to creating riverside parklands, planting trees and enhancing habitats, delivering new schools, or installing bat boxes and hedgehog highways, every Wyatt development is a conscious, lasting investment in the community and the land we build upon.

We think long-term, from sustainable drainage systems and to our use of traditional architecture that reflects the character of each location. Whether it’s the curved brick screen walls, sash timber windows, or the estate railings between driveways, everything is designed to belong now and always.

    Our Locations

Our homes are always in a location worth cherishing. We build in carefully chosen settings, in sought-after villages and market towns where people aspire to live, raise families, and grow roots. From the heart of Dorset to the edges of Poole Harbour, we honour the heritage of each location with homes that reflect and enhance the local vernacular.

More than just convenience, our locations offer connection to nature, to neighbours, and to the rhythms of everyday life. With thoughtfully designed open spaces, generous plots, landscaped streetscapes, and a real sense of identity, our developments are not just places to live, they’re places to belong.

We are proud to be a regional housebuilder because it means we build with understanding, with respect and with care. We hire locally, support local economies, and nurture long-standing relationships with trusted craftsmen and suppliers.
