Wyatt Homes hands over a brand new Skatepark, Allotments and Parkland in Wimborne

Dorset based developer Wyatt Homes has built a bespoke skatepark and allotments adjacent to Wyatt Homes’ recently completed Wimborne Town Football Club and housing development off Leigh Road and Parmiter Drive in Wimborne.

The skatepark has seventeen designed features and can be used by skateboarders and BMX riders. The skatepark has been handed over to Dorset Council who will maintain and manage the site.

David Wyatt, Managing Director, comments; “Our objective has been to deliver a skatepark for the benefit of the community that will be well used and enjoyed. It has been designed to a high specification and the range of obstacles designed into the course caters for all abilities but also for those with more experience who relish a challenge.”

The allotments have also been handed over to Dorset Council who will maintain and manage the allotments and provide rentals to local residents.

The allotment site has 42 plots and water has been provided. All of the plots have garden sheds and the site is surrounded by a rabbit proof fence. The allotments are located next to an area of informal open space that can be used to extend the allotments should the Council see demand rise, and the total area being transferred is over 2 acres.

This ‘Saxonbury’ development also provides a footpath from Parmiter Drive running alongside the WTFC facility, the skate park and allotments under the A31 to an 8 acre riverside park adjacent to the River Stour which has also been transferred to Dorset Council.
