Family Transforms Their View of New Builds After Stepping Inside One

Ben and Claire overlooked new build homes at first but had a dramatic change of heart after stepping inside a Wyatt home

When the time came for the Carter family to upsize their home, they overlooked new build homes at first but had a dramatic change of heart after stepping inside a Wyatt home.

After searching for their perfect home for 12 months, Ben, Claire and their daughters decided to visit Wyatt Homes’ Brimsmore. Their visit challenged every assumption they previously held about new build homes.

Claire, who is a teacher, and husband Ben, who works in the aerospace industry, had lived opposite Brimsmore in a three-bedroom detached home but as their daughters were getting older they knew they’d need more space.

“The third bedroom in our previous home was a box room and we wanted the girls to have equal sized bedrooms. Our oldest is 13 and will be learning to drive in a few years so we also wanted a drive with space for enough cars,” said Claire.

The finish of the home was second to none

The family chose a five-bed, three-storey townhouse.

“Moving from a detached home to a semi-detached was never part of the plan, it almost felt like a step back but as soon as we walked into the property at Brimsmore, we knew our year long search was over. The finish of the home was second to none, it was light and airy inside. The sales consultant Penny didn’t even have to try and sell it to us, it sold itself,” said Claire.

The family used Wyatt’s recommended mortgage advisor, Threshold Mortgages, who wrapped up the move within six weeks.

Claire added: “We love Brimsmore. As we lived so close to the development beforehand, we’re still close to the girls’ schools and it’s no further to work for both Ben and me. Moving into a new build also gives us that peace of mind in that we won’t have to do any big jobs on the home for a few years and we have the 10-year warranty too.”

Brimsmore combines countryside charm with modern convenience, offering a village‑style layout and generous green spaces that foster a strong sense of community.

Homes currently available at Brimsmore start at £375,000 for a three-bedroom Edmondsham.
