Wyatt Homes Raises Over £5,200 for Local Charities

The Wyatt Homes Team

We are delighted to announce that £5,266.75 was raised through our recent charity walk around Studland, in aid of two great local causes: Routes to Roots and Wimborne Food Bank.

28 Wyatt Homes employees took part in a 10 mile walk to raise money towards combatting homelessness and hunger across Wimborne and the wider Poole area.

Shaun Pettitt, Managing Director, said: “For so many people to come together for two fantastic charities in the local area was great to see, and with such an extraordinary amount raised, we’re pleased that we can contribute towards making a real difference to the lives of local people.

“Routes to Roots and Wimborne Food Bank are exemplary organisations that put local people at the core of their operations, so we’re incredibly pleased to be supporting such causes where volunteers really pour their heart and soul into the community.

“The shared desire towards making a tangible difference to people’s lives is testament to the community spirit here at Wyatt Homes, and we look forward to continuing to support local businesses and charities across Dorset.”

Routes to Roots is Poole’s homelessness charity, which provides vital work across the town and beyond to help vulnerable people, through offering hot food, showers, sleeping bags and other necessities, while also working closely with addiction teams, mental health workers and Poole’s rough sleeper outreach team.

Wimborne Food Bank provides a community service for those who are struggling across the town, including daily essentials to those in need. With food parcels and items, debt advice, budget support and more, the charity ensures that local families don’t miss out on important experiences due to financial constraints.

Ben Sargent, Centre Manager at Routes to Roots said, “It’s great for Wyatt Homes to support us once more after their generous fundraising from a golf day earlier this year contributed towards essential homelessness support.

“The effort and sacrifice that Wyatt Homes staff members made to help vulnerable people across the community was commendable, and it’s fantastic to see so many people with the local community so close to their heart.”

Sharon Keenan, Manager at Wimborne Food Bank said “We’d like to place on record our thanks to Wyatt Homes for this amazing donation from their recent charity walk – it really is an incredible achievement, and the funds raised will go towards providing for those in need. We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the walk and to everyone that supported it by sponsoring somebody.

“We are now further supported to continue serving those individuals and families who are unable to afford food and helping those in a vulnerable position who will benefit from further guidance.”
